Summary: Even in the dim light John knew the vibrant red would shine, painting the shape and curve of his mouth for Rodney to see.

Artist's notes: This is art for a story I'm working on, and older idea that once sprung up from a conversation about men wearing makeup. Why my muses wanted to see John with painted lips (the story will tell more, but it's not exactly lipstick, and it's not about any kink) I have no idea, but I took the idea and ran with it :)

Posting this for the

story_works flash challenge 'Surprise', as it was a surprise for me that it happened, and certainly a surprise for both John and Rodney too :D

The 2014 SGA Santa fic exchange is now open for sign ups. This is the 10th exchange and, unfortunately, it is also the last one, meaning this is your last opportunity to come and play :)

The exchange is for all types of fic related to Stargate Atlantis - all types and all pairings - and the minimum word count for submissions is 1,000 words. While the fest is run on livejournal, you don't have to have a livejournal account to take part.

Sign ups close on 6th October, with assignments due out by the 13th October, and stories are due by December 10th.

Posting will take place between 14th and 23rd December 2014.

Well, we've made it to round one where we're up against Arthur/Eames from Inception.

As of right now, we're very much behind 657 to 1760 but it's early days yet.

Arthur/Eames were beating us handily in the seeding round. We were averaging only 20 votes an hour for the three days the round was in play. (And that included me voting twice an hour - once from my computer and once from my phone.) I’d love for things to turn around now that the actual tourney has begun, however.

There are almost 2,000 people in the this and the LJ comm combined. If less than half of us voted 3 or 4 times a day we'd have incredible numbers and would be a major contender. I’m kind of at a loss how to motivate folks to vote. It’s a silly poll, I know, but I always look at it for a chance to show MGM, SyFy and those (now former) powers that be that despite everything WE STILL LOVE OUR SHOW AND WE ARE STILL IN LOVE WITH JOHN AND RODNEY.

I’m feeling rather lonely in that endeavor of late.

Is there anybody out there?
